At Connection Mental Healthcare, we strive to provide the highest quality of care for people suffering from different types of addiction. Unfortunately, this also means there are certain scenarios where our treatment may not be suitable – these indications are known as 'contraindications' and must be taken into account before commencing any form of therapy with us.
Contraindications:
- Clients under the age of 18;
- Clients with a prominent GHB, opiate or heroin addiction;
- Clients with psychiatric problems in the foreground, such as psychotic disorders or schizophrenia;
- Clients with bipolar disorders and who may also be taking lithium;
- Clients with serious sexual abnormalities and/or behaviours,
- Clients with disturbed aggression regulation who show threatening or actual violent behaviour;
- Clients with an intellectual disability
There are specialised healthcare institutions for the above-mentioned indications. We recommend that you discuss the options with your doctor. If you have any questions or doubts, please contact us. We can then answer your questions and together we will see if treatment at Connection is possible.
